What is Memory of the World?

In 1992 Serbian nationalist attacks on Bosnian cultural institutions effectively destroyed nearly the entire written record of Bosnia's history. In the same year, in response to that event, the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme was launched with the broad goal of safeguarding the documentary heritage of humanity.

UNESCO Pacific Memory of the World Programme
